Mary Smith is originally from Homewood, Alabama. While studying music education at Auburn University, she received vocal instruction from the nationally recognized composer and vocalist, Dr. Rosephanye Dunn-Powell. She conducts the East Alabama Children's Choir. Mary taught music and choir to grades Pre-K through 12th at Lee-Scott Academy in Auburn, Alabama, and started their first ever competitive show choir, Higher Glory. She also serves on the praise team at Parkway Baptist. Currently, she is a part of the full-time SSO staff as Creative Director and Head Instructor. Mary and her husband, Eron, have four beautiful and talented children together: Zoe, Juliette, River, and Oaklen.
