Cecile and Robyn began Summer Show-Offs in 1989 to inspire and nurture the talents of young people.  As Co-Directors Cecile and Robyn work together to create a comfortable environment where students can reach their full potential.

Cecile McNeel Martin received her Bachelor of Music Education from Mississippi University for Women in 1982. While there, she performed in the musical groups “Meh Ladies” & “The Masker’s Washboard Band”.  She later received her Masters Degree in Voice from Mississippi State University, where she also taught voice.  Cecile founded & directed the show choirs: VisionsSophisticats, & Pizzazz while teaching in the Grenada, Mississippi School System. During her long career, she has been a featured instructor in Boston, MA with American Show Choir Camps.  She has served as a guest clinician for show choir camps throughout the southeastern United States.  Cecile was selected to be a professional exchange instructor in London, England where she was instrumental in developing a music curriculum for junior high & high school choral music programs.  She has been a vocal clinician for the Mississippi Baptist Convention, the 4H Clubs of America, and the Mississippi Fine Arts Association.  Cecile now lives in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband, Randy, & three children. They are members of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.

Robyn McGonagill Meredith 

Music can change lives!  As a former student of Cecile Martin, Robyn is a firm believer in the Summer Show-Offs process: Building confidence and character through song and dance.  She is a product of this philosophy.  Her life was forever changed through music. She continually testifies of the confidence she gained through music.


Robyn is a native of Mississippi and has been involved in teaching performance techniques for over 25 years.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Delta State University.  While at DSU, Robyn toured the United States and Europe as a vocalist.  She founded and directed the show choirs Encore and Crescendo while teaching music in Mississippi.   


Robyn lives in Birmingham, Alabama, where she is a member of Church of The Highlands.  She is married to Jason Meredith and they have two children, Morgan and Corbin.

Coordinators, Instructors and Support Staff

Carolyn Bomar Bakke got her start in music performance in Cecile’s first show choir, Visions, as a senior at Grenada High School in Grenada, Mississippi.  She earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Computer Science at Mississippi State University & moved to Huntsville, AL to work in the software industry for 16 years.  In 2008, after serving as Executive Director at Huntsville Intergraph, Carolyn decided to spend more time with her family.  Although Carolyn still consults part-time in the software industry, she is now a full-time wife & mom, supporting her children’s growing interest in the arts.  Carolyn has been seen as “Mrs. Fezziwig” in Fantasy Playhouse’s 2007 & 2008 musical productions of A Christmas Carol and also played “Mrs. Cratchit” in the 2009 production.  She was also seen in the chorus of Renaissance Theatre’s 2009 musical,Batter Up.  She sings with multiple contemporary groups & is a storyteller for the chilldren’s ministry at First United Methodist Church.  She is married to Paul & they have 2 children, Lauren and John.

Christy Wilson Bosher grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Auburn University where she graduated with a degree in Family & Child Development. While there, she spent three years in Auburn University Singers, & continued to entertain professionally beyond graduation. From 1992-2003, Christy performed on various stages around the world with Royal Carribean InternationalGaylord Entertainment, Busch Gardens & Six Flags Theme Parks, Inc.. Most recently, she was seen performing at the Blues Festival in Jacksonville, Florida, with Toots Lorraine and the Traffic. Settling in Atlanta in 2003, she now resides in Marietta, Georgia, with her husband, Cleve, & their daughter, Kinsey.

Wendy Brendle was born and raised in Columbus, Mississippi.  She attended college at Mississippi State University.  After receiving her Bachelor of Education degree in Fitness Management, she finished her formal education with a master's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Alabama.  While at MSU, Wendy sang with a contemporary Christian band and, after moving to Montgomery, sang in a country band.  In an effort to instill a love for music in her children, she began driving her girls from Montgomery to Auburn every summer to Summer Show-Offs camp as soon as they were old enough to participate.  Little did she know that only a few years later she would be coordinating SSO in Montgomery.  Wendy lives in Mongtomery, Alabama, with her husband, Kent, and three children, Gray, Cate Scott, and Brooks.  She is a member of First Baptist Church, Montgomery, where she sings in the choir and teaches preschool choir.  She spends her time being a mom, personal training clients, and working with SSO.

Eron Smith was born & raised in Auburn, Alabama.  After graduating from Auburn High School in 2002, he went on to pursue a career in Music Education at Auburn University.  While attending the university, Eron choreographed for various schools around the state such as Berry MS, Benjamin Russell HS, Prattville HS, Eufaula HS, Auburn JHS, & Auburn HS.  During the 2006 Auburn University football season,  Eron was asked to sing at the Auburn vs. Florida pre-game show.  After graduating from Auburn, Eron had the opportunity to return to his alma mater, Auburn HS, as the Choral Director.  In addition to teaching show choir, he also leads worship at Rocky Mount Baptist Church.  Eron now lives in Opelika, Alabama with his wife, Mary.  Eron & Mary will be traveling with Summer Show-Offs to all camps in Mississippi & Alabama serving as Instructors, as well as directing the Summer Show-Offs camps in Auburn, AL.  

Mary Smith is originally from Homewood, Alabama.  While studying music education at Auburn University, she received vocal instruction from the nationally recognized composer and vocalist, Dr. Rosephanye Dunn-Powell.  She has worked extensively with the East Alabama Children's Choir and East Alabama Youth Chorale, choreographing two musicals: Annie and The Music Man.  Mary taught music and choir to grades Pre-K through 12th at Lee-Scott Academy in Auburn, Alabama, and started their first ever competetive show choir, Higher Glory.  She presently serves as a Creative Co-Director and Head Instructor for Summer Show-Offs.  Since 2008, Mary has served as Assistant Director to all competitive show choirs at Auburn High School.  She also teaches private voice and piano. She serves as pianist, choir director and worship leader at Rocky Mount Baptist Church.  Mary lives in Auburn, Alabama, with her husband, Eron, and their three children, Zoe, Juliette, and River.

Heather Taylor  is a native of Dunwoody, Georgia.  She attended Auburn University & was a member of the Auburn Singers Show Choir & Concert Choir.  While at Auburn, Heather studied Public Relations & Marketing & was a member of Phi Mu Sorority.  Heather enjoys singing and uses her gifts to lead worship.  She & her husband, Lee, recently moved back to Atlanta after living in Birmingham for 5 years. While in Birmingham, their children were introduced to Summer Show-Offs.  She has an ever growing passion to equip & encourage children to explore their talents, which spurred her desire to bring Summer Show-Offs to Atlanta. Heather was a shy child, & she remembers the first person who encouraged her to sing on a stage & it changed the course of her life.  Heather and Lee are currently on staff at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia, & have three children:  Riley, Jaclyn, & Mac.

Meagan White Townsend is a native of Mississippi. She attended the University of Mississippi as an undergraduate and graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  While attending Ole Miss, she was an active member Delta Gamma Sorority.  Meagan is a former student of Mrs. Robyn Meredith.  She was a member of Crescendo from 1997-1999 and Encore from 1999-2005 at Kirk Academy in Grenada, Mississippi.  Meagan became a member of the Summer Show-Offs family in 1996 as a fourth grade camper!  She later became the original Summer Show-Offs counselor in 2002 when she traveled to Birmingham to work for the summer.  Since then, she has filled many different roles in the Summer Show-Offs staff as the camp has grown and expanded through the years.  Meagan currently lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she works as a Registered Nurse.  She is married to Luke and they have a son, Benjamin.


Jamie Wright is a graduate of Belhaven University with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Music.  She has taught first grade at Jackson Academy for 15 years. During her time there she has been the assistant choral director for the sixth grade choir “Finale” for three years and choral director for two years. She directs and leads children’s choirs and musicals for Parkview Church.  Jamie is a sustaining member of the Jr. League of Jackson and the Madison-Ridgeland Jr. Auxiliary.   She is married to Ellis Wright and has three children- Lori (Eric), Michael (Anna) and John - and four beautiful grandchildren: Elizabeth Ann, Seth, Wright, and Susannah.
